SCHEDULE UPDATE: Oct. 12, 2024
Due to maintenance operations the past week in Camarillo, CA, that delayed the arrival of B-29 Doc in Chino, the event in Chino at Yanks Air Museum has been canceled.
“When it comes to the decision to cancel tour stops and ride flights, it’s never a fun decision,” said Josh Wells, B-29 Doc executive director. “But when it comes to the safe operation of Doc and the long-term sustainability of our flight operations, sometimes it becomes necessary to pause and allow our magnificent team of maintainers time to do their job. We are disappointed we won’t be able to visit our friends at Yanks Air Museum in Chino this year, but we know we’ll see them again soon.”
B-29 Doc is scheduled to depart Camarillo, CA, on Sunday for a return flight to its home base in Wichita, KS, and will travel to Tulsa, OK, next weekend (Oct. 18-20).
All ride flight passengers will be contacted via email and text message and will receive a full refund for their ticket purchase.
“We have the greatest maintenance team and warbird crew in the world and I’m so very proud of the work they do year-round to keep Doc flying. Thanks to the work of these heroes, Doc will continue to fly to honor the men and women who designed, built and flew these machines to protect freedom during World War II,” Wells said.
