Engine Start & Testing

Doc’s Friends, the group leading the restoration effort of the B-29 known as ‘Doc’ will start the historic warbird’s engines for the first time Friday, Sept. 18.

The engine start and testing is one of the final steps needed before first flight.  Due to safety and security concerns on a live and active runway ramp, the start and testing event will not be open to the public.  B-29 and Doc followers who have been keeping watch on our restoration project can view a live webcast of the event by clicking on the video player below.

The live web stream will be available beginning at 8 a.m. CT on Friday, Sept. 18.
