Doc’s Friends and WSU Tech postpone Pull a Plane event
Doc’s Friends and WSU Tech have postponed the Pull a Plane event that was scheduled April 18, 2020 at the B-29 Doc Hangar Education and Visitors Center. The decision to put the event on hold is in response to the current public health concern with COVID-19 (coronavirus).
“Due to the restrictions being placed on public events and gatherings, as well as out of precaution for participants and spectators, we have decided to postpone the event,” said Josh Wells, Doc’s Friends executive director and general manager. “For now, our top priority is the safety and health of our combined Doc’s Friends and WSU Tech event planning team and volunteers, as well as overall public health. We are hopeful to reschedule the event for later in the year, but at this time no date has been set.”
All team captains will be notified of the plan to reschedule when a date has been set. In the meantime, all funds that have been raised to date, along with future fundraising efforts for the event will be placed on hold.
“In taking these measures we believe Doc’s Friends and WSU Tech will be part of the solution to de-escalate the spread of this virus in our city and community,” said Sheree Utash, president of WSU Tech. “We know these are unprecedented times and create unique challenges for all of us both professionally and personally. We are actively working to find an alternative date to bring Pull a Plane to Wichita.”
Both Doc’s Friends and WSU Tech continue to make adjustments to the schedules for both organizations beyond the Pull a Plane event. Additional announcements regarding other events that either organization are hosting or are involved with in the future will be made independently by both organizations.
