B-29 DOC to Attend World War II Weekend in Reading, PA

B-29 DOC has been added to this list of historic aircraft attending World War II Weekend in Reading, PA, June 6-8, 2025.

B-29 DOC, one of only two remaining B-29 Superfortress bombers still flying today, will be available for ride flights, as well as ground and cockpit tours during the event hosted by the Mid Atlantic Air Museum.

“Honoring the legacy of the Greatest Generation and those who answered the call to defend freedom during World War II is our mission,” said B-29 DOC Aircraft Commander Sean Elliott. “Partnering with the Mid Atlantic Air Museum for its annual World War II Weekend provides a unique opportunity for people to get up close and personal with history and climb inside rare warbirds to learn the stories and legacies of those who designed, built and flew these historic airplanes during the war.”

DOC is one of 1,644 B-29 bombers built by the Boeing Company in Wichita, Kansas, during World War II.

Museum President Russell Strine said, “The Mid- Atlantic Air Museum is pleased to welcome Doc back for its second appearance at our event, this time for a full appearance including airshow flying and non-stop rides during the event.”
