B-29 Doc changes weekend flight plans
Due to conditions unfavorable for flight in Wichita, B-29 Doc will not log its maintenance check flight this weekend.
“Throughout the restoration project, including the planning of all of our flight operations to date, we’ve always made the safety of our crew and the well-being of our historic warbird the top priority,” said Josh Wells, Doc’s Friends spokesman. “Conditions this weekend are expected to be unfavorable for our crew and airplane to perform our required maintenance check flight and other flight operations.”
Earlier this week the restoration and maintenance crew successfully ran all four of Doc’s engines to wrap up the planned winter maintenance on the World War II-era airplane.
In case you missed it, here’s the video from this week’s successful engine runs.
